CLANNAD is the second exception I make for Anime made from Visual Novels. It's story is a bit less dramatic than Air, but still sorrowful under so many points of view. I was really impressed by Kotomi since her first appearence in one of the first episodes. She is a genius who pretendes to like solitude and who completely lacks on social skills. She loves books and she tends to completely ignore everyone when she's reading (my same attitude, indeed). And she even plays the violin (although badly), an instrument I simply adore. Kotomi shows a great development through her arc (more than the other characters for sure) and although her story could lack on originality, her concept is really unique.

I wasn't really surprised about this approval, since CLANNAD isn't that popular and I didn't expect to have rival for her, but I was really happy back when I opened my in-box and noticed that nice e-mail! Let go is a silly title maybe, but really refers to Kotomi's emotional state, since she tends to erase any kind of emotion or partecipation for the outside world. But she really lets go herself and grew up.
