Honestly, I'm quite shocked by why I like Marina. I usually can't stand people like her, who shows so many flaws, weaknesses and frailty, but Marina turned out to be my favourite character from Gundam 00. I think she is quite misunderstood because although she seems so fragile she can stand still, she doesn't escape from her many responsabilities and although she might seem undecided or she might feel fear, she is someone who keeps fighting (in her own way) till the end. Her relationship with Setsuna really helped me in building a good opinion on her, since it isn't the usual "romantic clichè" so typical in the Gundam tradition: Setsuna is Marina's hope (and somehow despair). Marina is Setsuna's need for answers and for the truth which lies in humanity. They are so different, yet so similar. There isn't anything romantic between them, if not the need to find someone who can share insecurities, doubts and either hopes. I really hope to see more about her in the second season.

When I applied for Marina I was really unsure. I had to apply for both her than Setsuna, because I couldn't make a choice between them (and I usually apply only for my favourite characters), but now I feel very happy about getting her fanlisting. Fragile is the on-sight opinion you get of Marina, nothing more, nothing less.
